True and proper Worship

As we gathered last night for our weekly men's study we had about a dozen of the men from Freedom House ministry drop in. www.freedomhouseministries.net/   It's really encouraging to see how God sets men free when they turn to him. They shared some great testimonies.

Tom spoke on worship as it pertains to the deity of Christ. That if Jesus did indeed come in the flesh then he is worthy to be worshiped as God. He went on to ask the question of what is worship. Is it in singing praises on Sunday or is it more than that.  Does the Bible give a definition of what worship is and what God desires?
Romans 12:1  New International Version (NIV)
 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.
Tom suggested that as we serve others as unto the Lord we are offering ourselves as a sacrifice and this is true worship. As we are about to start our Summer of Service it helps us reflect on what we are really doing as we serve others.
