Guess who came to dinner

It was a pizza and root beer night and as we were having our weekly men's ministry Wednesday night dinner before our Bible study someone said a van had broke down in our parking lot. It was 16 men from Freedom House Ministry on their way to another church. We invited them in and they said this must be where God wants us tonight. After we were done eating Jerry introduce their group and talked about their ministry. Then each of the men introduced themselves and gave a brief testimony. These were RADICAL stories of how God saved and redeemed broken lives.
Pastor Bob had just spoke several weeks ago on "telling your story" of God's salvation in each of our lives and last night we had 16 stories of how hearts were changed when they turned to God. It reminded me of a couple of simple lines in the song.... Jesus is the Light of the World! (Jn 8:12)
Once I was blind, but now I can see:
The Light of the world is Jesus!

Evan Irwin then spoke to us and also told his story of how he had grown up in Brazil with missionary parents. One of  the scriptures he read was from Deuteronomy 6 about your heart and training your children to follow God. He spoke of family and the importance of praying for our children and becoming "God parents" in praying for other children of  families that God lays on your heart.

This was a evening with God's hand prints all over it. It was a SPECIAL night with some mighty special guys that revealed God's power to change lives.
