What is God asking of us

In series three of Not a fan but a follower, the rich young ruler ask Jesus, what must I do to be saved? Jesus answered, Give your money to the poor and follow me. This isn't about money but more about what stood in the way of being a complete follower of God. What stands in the way for each of us to say, I will give ( what ever it is) to you Lord, and be a complete follower. It's easier to be a comfortable Christian and just go to church and give a few bucks in the offering but God is asking for complete obedience. That is the challenge for this week in asking if there is something God wants us to give up for him.

The prayer requests for the week were:
John and Michael are both praying to sell their homes.
Safe travel for Pastor Bob and his family.
Direction this week or input for Brian and Jenny, on having safe movement or access (remodel) in their home. Also Brian had a  friend in his ALS support group who just passed away, and wants prayer for the family, that God would show them the truth about who He really is.
Barbara, whose husband just passed away, is having trouble keeping it together since her husband died.
Praying for a support group or special friend.
That we have a good turnout of support as well as kids for Candy Corn Carnival.
John C. asked for prayer in his relationship with his mom, that she would recognize who God is through him or someone else.
Dave Potts asked for prayer in the family's travels in November.

As a group we asked that at next Wednesday's meeting we would have a testimony of how God intervened sometime during the week in our lives.
