Wednesday night we started the evening by savoring 2 different types of lasagna's, tossed salad, garlic bread, and then moved on to 2 mousse pies and 4 dozen cookies but who's counting. As we ate the conversations were sprinkled with topics like the age of the earth, how can I help my neighbor, and wasn't that a great turnout for the churches workday.
As we began our study Michael asked the question, what is suffering? There were many answers and definitions. The next question was what is our response to it. Michael went on to point out that suffering brings glory to God and produces things that count like wisdom, perseverance, and increased prayer time to name a few. Paul counted it a privilege to suffer for God. Phil 1:29... James said Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials (suffering) Action men of God who endured suffering serve as examples. Men like Noah, Joseph, David, Jonah, Paul and of course our Savior who suffered and died.
