Starvation staved off

In spite of the dire warnings of being encapsulated in a ice cave we had a great turnout. Maybe some of the guys were hoping that we would be snow bound and live on polish dogs, double chocolate brownies, and Manderin orange cake for the next day or so. Of course we had our proverbial strawberry lemonade to give us energy also.

We finished watching our DVD that showed that people are not always interested in truth but often like to believe in things that appeal to their desire of being able to raise their heavenly status through works and achievements. Verses like "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" Rom 3:23, doesn't satisfy our sense of being a good person and we should be rewarded for being better that a lot of people. Jack shared his testimony of how God reached down and touched his life at the moment he was thinking, I'm glad I'm not like that loser over there.
Pastor Bob pointed out how our lives are living epistles to show God's unconditional love to those around us. It's not works but God's grace that redeems us. Eph. 2:8... A great way to finished our study on Truth and the Gospel.

People to pray for:

Dave Carlson's daughter who is having surgery.
Joe Hartman. That his strength stays up until he goes on dialysis.
For Robin's friend who is going to court and
his brother in law who is struggling with cancer.
Steve's brother in law who also is very weak from a brain tumor.
John B.'s son who suffers from depression.
Brian Epp's health and strength.
Uwe as he travels and works in India the next couple weeks.

Praise as Juan got his passport and Visa and is coming home.
