John, Palms off the Bibles origin to us

Last night we switched in midstream from having fish and chips, to having pulled pork sandwiches. With the amount of people that ended up coming we made the right call. There were no delay of game penalties and the food flowed fantastically. We doubled on the dessert with Doug bringing his famous rhubarb jello cake, and Dan joining the dessert entry with his home made cherry pie. It was a guy worthy feast enjoyed by all.

We adjourned to the wood stove heated living room where we opened with prayer and John Palm led us in an insightful talk on the Origin of the Bible and why we can know beyond a doubt the accuracy and integrity of the ancient writings and manuscripts that have been collected and make up our present day Bible. John showed us in a scholarly way the different men that God has used to get this Bible into the hands of the common man. Next week John will continue with his informative lesson on how the Holy Spirit inspired word of God came to be passed down to us. I also promise to back off from feeding the wood stove so the term well done will be used in referring to John's teaching instead of our over heated body's.

The following week Tom Croley will again walk us through using the Bible software programs he gave us earlier on a disk. So be sure and download, and begin using your program, so you can have real questions to ask on how to find answers quicker and better to Bible questions.

As John points out how diligent people were in bringing us the correct Word of God, so Tom shows us how to use it more effectively. Looking forward to next Wednesday night.

We are praying that God's hand will be upon the following people this next week.

- Vicki Rhodes parents who both have urgent health issues
- Joe Hartman as he prepares for dialysis
- Jake Lloyd's safe and quick return from Afghanistan
- For our Elders as they meet
- Don Clark as he continues to struggle with health issues regarding his brain tumor
- Janna and the kids in regard to her work, family tranquility, and Juan's return home.
- Brian's health concerns
- Colleen's stroke recovery
- Jessie Risor's surgery recovery and less pain
- Dave Pott's job status and his friend Sean and Mandy's marriage

Amen
