Haulin' Hay

Wednesday night’s SOS menu included chili and chips with leftover punch. It was kind of nice rehashing the cook-off and eating refried chili as guys started wandering in. At 6:30 we loaded up and headed for Landis Epp’s farm and talked about bucking hay as kids. When we got there, we stared at two trailers with 300 bales and knew it was time to get real. With the twang of the twine, the bales were pitched and packed from the floor to the rafters. In no time at all, as dust filled the air, we had that hay in the barn and wrapped up our bale bucking action.

Landis sliced and diced some watermelon, which we made quick work of, and then we spent some wonderful time praying for our good friend and brother Brian Epp. You could feel the presence of the Lord as men led out in prayer and thanked our Savior for being able to serve and pray with Brian as he entrusts his health to the Great Physician. What a wonderful night of a little work and a lot of fellowship.
