We had a great time at our Outdoor Night Breakfast. Lots of great food, good folks, fishing talk, life sharing, and a word of encouragement
as you enjoy God's great outdoors to take someone along.

We will have food and we will talk about fishing but more importantly we will see and hear life shared. The topics may change but as a church family that's a principle we want to practice.

Our annual GO FISH tournament

Start planning on attending our annual Go Fish tournament. This year it's at the church so it's easy to find, easy to bring friends to, and easy to attend with it being on Friday night this year instead of Wednesday. Now it might not be so EASY to win this action packed, I'm going to bring home the trophy, game of Go Fish, but come and enjoy some good food and fellowship and try.

LOOK back at Sampson and Daniel and then LOOK forward and choose

Two weeks ago Tom spoke on Samson and even though he had some strengths  his weaknesses and propensity to give into temptation are well documented. He did judge Israel for 20 years so his life seems to show he had ongoing moral issues.

This last week Pastor Bob spoke on Daniel and even though he was taken captive as a young man he purposed in his heart to serve God. When temptation came he trusted in God and his legacy is one of standing strong even when oppressed for his beliefs.

As we look back at two biblical men whose life is filled with purpose and is more of a guide to serving God.?  Here is a chorus about who Daniel was and what he did.

Dare to be a Daniel,
Dare to stand alone!
Dare to have a purpose firm!
Dare to make it known.

As we count our blessings and thank God for them here are some prayer requests we can pray for.

Hann's friend who has throat cancer...he has made a commitment to the Lord.
Mark's friend's wife has stage 4 cancer...diagnosed as terminal. Raising granddaughter
and that Mark get opportunity to talk to his friend.
John's client who owes money
Steve's family at Thanksgiving that the Spirit of God will shine
Bob's time with extended family at Thanksgiving and Christmas that God will be praised.
Daniel that he will be an example to neighbor and also help his children do their best
Jack's grandson

Praise:
Jim and Linda's grandson came home and is OK.

Balaam and His talking Donkey

On Wednesday night Tom spoke on the story of Balaam and his talking donkey. It asks as many questions of who Balaam really was as it gave answers to what he did. Was he a pagan who knew who God was or did he know God but had a evil heart and influenced the Israelites to do evil?

One thing we do know is that Balaam had a donkey who God used to speak. God can and does make the impossible happen. Knowing this are we willing to let God use us and speak through us even though we may have the dumb donkey attitude of that we could never say that to them. Or if we do hear God urging us to say or do something for Him what are our hearts attitude when we do it.
Are my thoughts consistent with my actions? When I obey God am I doing it grudgingly or out of love for him?

It was a great lesson and caused us all to reflect on the intentions of our hearts.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any double-edged sword, piercing even to the point of dividing soul from spirit, and joints from marrow; it is able to judge the desires and thoughts of the heart.

Prayer requests:
Health for Jim and Irene
Marks mom lost a good friend Miss Ruth. Pray for family
Bills son in making good decisions
David's grandparents Bible study would be fruitful
Dave's co workers wife has cancer
Tom's grandson medical and personal issues. (girlfriend)
and daughters struggle with court and ex-husband
Daniel's as he helps and trains his children

Be real, be accountable, be a friend

We had a great a great turnout for the Men's Wednesday night bible study kick off. Banana splits and pastry's was the food group of the night and lets just say no one went hungry.

Brad Peterson was our special speaker and he spoke of being real, accountable and a friend if we wanted God to bring about growth and change in us and use us to influence change in others.

Freedom House Ministries came with a large group and we had a testimony of God's faithfulness and goodness even in our brokenness  as we walk with Him.

At the end we had prayer requests for God's favor for John as he went to court, for new computers at Freedom House, and God to help a new guy who had just arrived at Freedom House to be able to adjust and make it in his new environment. Brian Epp also asked for prayer as he met and ministered to someone with ALS that he would through his own life show them that God offered hope and salvation.
